Semikron and Goldwind partner to grow the Chinese wind energy market

A Chinese wind-power company, Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co. Ltd, has agreed to purchase advanced electrical equipment from Germany-based, local manufacturer Semikron China. The intelligent power modules and complete Semistack power electronic assemblies will come from Semikron China.

Port Angeles homeowners can volunteer to turn wind energy into hot water

The city is seeking volunteers for a Bonneville Power Administration pilot program to judge how effective wind power can be for heating water for homes.Ten volunteers will be signed up to have special equipment installed that will allow the wind to warm the water heater as well as a ceramic heater, said Larry Dunbar, city power resources deputy director.

Govt paid P1.28B for geothermal plant

Philippines BacMan Geothermal, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of geothermal leader Energy Development Corp., paid the government P1.28 billion on Friday for the 150-megawatt Bacon-Manito geothermal power plant in Bicol.
